In Wirepeople Country, the Wire Messiah decided to run for it instead of dying for all wirekind. He argued that wirekind never asked for his sacrifice and that he wouldn't want to impose. He's also quoted as having said later: "I don't believe in wireless communication. All this talk of 'god' and 'electromagnetic waves' is utter bull."
